So I'm starting to realize blogger isn't really my thing. I like having my blog on my independent site.

So there you have it. I've moved and this time I'm actually using my blog. It's summer and I have way too much time on my hands.

My outfit from Friday. The first day in ages that has reached the temperatures of 70 degrees. I felt like a mobile sun walking around wearing this dress all day.

Yellow Skirt now Dress: Goodwill ($4)
Black Lace Bra: For Love ($1)
Brown D&G Bag: A gift
Brown Wedges: Stolen from my sister

In this shot I kind of wanted to imply the idea of confinement and breaking out of that little box. I thought it turned out rather nifty. Just give me some good lighting and I'll work my magic.

Navy Blue Blazer: ($3) Goodwill
Grey La Disptue T-shirt: (Free) Concert
Kaki Crop Pants: ($10) H&M
Brown Bag: (A Gift) Dolce and Gabbana
Shoes: ($20) Guess by Marciano from DSW Shoes

My outfit for the day btw. I'm giving these shoes another trial. They look fabulous but I'm discovering these shoes hurt like hell. The angle strap really digs into your skin over time but I'll suck it up and deal.

I absolutely love shots like this. Shooting people unawares in their natural habitat doing whatever it is that holds their attention. Yet at the same time, boy do I feel like a creeper!

I walked past this lady's window, saw her working, then proceeded to cross the street and pull out my telephoto and take a few snaps of her working. Success. I am now officially a peeping tom.

Dress: ($5) Goodwill
Shoes:($20) DSW

My outfit from the other day. This dress is so regal, Egyptian-like and beautiful in real life. This photo only does it half justice.

I just bought these amazing $70 Guess by Marciano heels from DSW the other day for $20. There were some amazing clearances but I'm already broke as it is so this was me living on the edge. They're this brownish-red hue in real life with a shiny finish. Beautiful.

Lookbook for the day:

Vivid Blue Blouse: ($3) St Vincent De Paul Thrift Store
Yellow Floral Skirt: ($10) Gadzooks
Skinny Brown Braided Belt: ($1) Goodwill
Brown Wedges: Stolen from my sister

Once I saw this blouse while thrifting I knew I had to have it. the color is so strong and blue! Plus the material feels amazing against my skin. This is a perfect outfit for the upcoming spring. I can't wait.

Every time I look at this photo it looks as if he's riding his bike through a bunch of cirrus clouds and a slighty green and yellow sky. I love having an imagination.

Near the end of last year I received a Flickr message asking to do an interview to be featured in the Chinese magazine Homeland. I was just sent photos of the spread today and will receive an actual copy in the mail soon.

This is so exciting. This is huge for me.

Showing some camera love. I figured out how to use my speedlite and I've never been more content.

I have officially reached 30,000 visitors to my flickr. Exciting right?!

I go back to school tomorrow, finally. After a long long month or so at home, I've never been happier to go study. Packing is such a pleasant task knowing it means tomorrow I'll once again be school. A school where I have few friends and is located in the middle of no-where...That should probably tell you a little bit about my situation at home.

I'm sick of this place, anything is an improvement.

Considering its coming onto a new year and a new year means new things, I figured it'd be appropriate to do something new with my hair. I'm now officially a redhead again because red heads have more fun. It's gotta be a proven fact by now.

I bought the Sims 2 for my Mac today and once again I feel as though my life is complete. Spending countless hours in front of my computer has never been more enjoyable and productive until now.

My goodwill coat and my Christmas heels. I love this mix.

December 27, 2008

I got these really amazing shoes for Christmas. With said shoes I'm about 5"11 and I feel as fierce as hell. Nice.

Forgive me for being guilty of saying this two days late, but Merry Christmas everyone!
I hope your holidays were good and full of cheer and all that jazz. I enjoyed myself this Christmas and this coming from a girl who hated it all her life. I didn't ask for much, but I got al I wanted and a little more. Being with the family had its proper ups and downs, but its to be expected.

I can't imagine going back to school anytime soon.
It's not even thinkable. I"m enjoying myself too much.

A proper Christmas post about my fantastic gifts on the way. Pictures and everything.

I miss 35mm film more than words could say. I wish I had the funds to pick up the habit again.
Film does magical things. Film inspires me.

Just because everyone loves new music. No one more than myself I must say.
So here's my gift to you.

Some tunes I'm digging and you should see if you do too.

>> Sofa Surfers - Can I Get a Witness
>> Thievery Corporation - Who Needs Forever
>> Air - Le Soleil Est Près de Moi
>> The Pixies - Hey
>> The Drawers - Old Many ( A great local band in my city )
>> Boxcutter - Windfall

I made a comment somewhere on the internet that it was harder to be so called "fierce" with glasses. After I said this I was somewhat bothered for a day or two considering I've been wearing glasses since the third grade. The thought that I lacked complete and utter fierceness on a day to day basis because I wore glasses seemed unfair.

I was then determined to appear fierce in a photograph wearing my glasses. When I take photos I never wear glasses. Why is that? When did the idea that girls with glasses can't be fierce. I thought guys loved girls with glasses...

Where here is my effort. I'm not sure if I achieved so said "fierceness" or not. Where's Tyra when you need her?

I have too much time on my hands nowadays...

My sister and I own at open mic nights around town. A photo from our escapades tonight just because she said I never take photos of her, and it's true. I don't know why I don't.

December 15, 2008

I took a trip to the downtown library today because for one I had nothing better to do and also to take some shots. They completely renovated everything and I must admit it's one nice library. Plenty of interesting places for me to go back and do shoots. I can't wait to get back into this photography thing. I've been slacking for too long.

This is probably one of my favorite photos of mine that I've ever taken. I don't know what it is about it. Maybe its the dreamy complementary colors of red and green. Perhaps the perfect symmetry of the squares. For some reason or another I adore it.

Yet at the same time I hate it. You know those photos that just spark memories? This is one of them. It has to do with stumbling across this spot with a boy who made my summer one to remember. Good memories, but ones that I'm ready to move on from.

But good grief I love this photo.
